BLOG: I will never forget the first website refresh I did. The passion was high but the experience was low. I was learning as I went and if I didn’t know how to do something, I used my evenings and weekends to find out.

Fast forward to where I am now - Squarespace Website Designer and Email Marketing Expert, with a two-year old growing business as a result of my love for design and the freedom from working from home. I’ve now completed numerous website designs from scratch and elevated existing sites to align them with my clients and their brands. It’s been a whirl-wind and I can’t imagine doing anything else.

Is Squarespace the right website platform for me?
If you want a beautiful, high-performing website without needing to touch code — yes. Squarespace is an all-in-one platform that combines design flexibility, hosting, security, and built-in marketing tools. It’s ideal for service providers, creatives, and product-based businesses who want control without being overwhelmed by the tech.

What costs are there outside of the cost of the Squarespace design?
You’ll need a Squarespace subscription (paid directly to Squarespace) and a domain name if you don’t already own one. Optional extras may include premium fonts, stock imagery, or third-party tools like email marketing integrations — but everything will be outlined clearly before we begin. No surprises.

Who builds my website?

Your website will be built by Anita at House of Admin, with ownership of the site transferred to you just before publishing. At that stage, you’ll create your Squarespace account and select your paid plan.

Will my website look like everyone else's?
No. Your website will be customised with your own brand colours, fonts and images, and we’ll adapt the layout to support your content and business goals. Squarespace provides the framework — I design the strategy and structure around you. The result? Custom-made, not cookie-cutter here!

Who is Squarespace?
Squarespace is a website platform founded in 2003. It’s known for user-friendly drag-and-drop features combined with strong design capability — allowing business owners to create fully customised, professional websites that do the heavy lifting for you.

Can I make changes to my website once the project is finished?
Absolutely. You’ll have full access to your website and complete control over your content. I build with clarity and simplicity in mind, so you can confidently update text, images, blog posts, and products whenever you need to.

Do you offer support if I get stuck?
Yes. You’re not left to figure it out alone. I offer post-launch support options and training so you feel confident managing your site. And when you need expert help? I’m here.

What images will you need for my website?
We’ll need high-quality photos that show off your business, your team, your space and/or your products — images that reflect you and your brand. While stock photos can fill gaps, they’re generic by nature and don’t tell your unique story.

We strongly encourage you to invest in a professional photographer. Custom photos give your brand authenticity, consistency and a more polished, memorable look - and they’re far more effective than generic stock images at building trust and connection with your audience. Squarespace themselves recommend capturing real photos of your business, products, people and moments that matter to your brand.

If we do use stock images, we’ll make sure they’re licensed for commercial use — and in some cases a licensing fee may apply depending on the source. You’re welcome to keep these stock images on your site indefinitely, or swap them out later with your own photos as you build your library.
