This page is designed to help you feel confident, supported, and in control of your Squarespace site now that your project is complete.

You don’t need to be “techy” to use Squarespace well. This guide covers the essentials you’ll use most often, plus where to find help if you ever need it.

G E T T I N G S T A R T E D

Logging In

Your Squarespace site is accessed at www.squarespace.com using the email and password you provided.

Once logged in:

  1. Click your profile icon (initials or photo)

  2. Choose your account dashboard

  3. Click your website’s thumbnail and then Edit Site to begin making changes.

Tip: If you can’t edit, make sure you’re on the correct account and have Editor or Administrator permissions.

Site Styles

  • Change fonts, colours, spacing, and layout styles in Site Styles

  • These adjustments update your branding consistently across the site.

Mobile Views

Squarespace automatically makes your site mobile-friendly — but always double-check by previewing the site on mobile screens.

What You Can Do On Your Own

  • Update content, photos, blog posts

  • Add new pages and links

  • Change stylistic elements

E D I T I N G C O N T E N T

Pages & Text

To edit a page:

  1. Enter Edit Mode from the top of the page

  2. Hover over the area you want to change

  3. Click the text or image and make your edits

  4. Click Save when finished.

  • Hover over the image

  • Click the image block

  • Choose Replace to upload a new one.
    Keep images optimized (not huge files) for faster loading.

Use Squarespace’s content blocks to add text, images, galleries, forms, and more. Simply drag blocks into your page layout.

Commerce & Stores

If you have products or services:

✔ Add/edit items in Commerce

✔ Manage inventory, pricing, shipping, and tax settings

✔ Track orders and customer enquiries

SEO (Search Engine Optimisation)

  • Edit page titles

  • Add meta descriptions

  • Set alt text on images for accessibility and better search results.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Go to your blog page, click + New Post, add your content, tags, categories and click Publish.

  • Yes, go to edit page settings and scroll to the SEO tab to update titles and descriptions.

  • Often this is due to permissions, logging-in status, or needing to use the correct Edit Mode.
